RIV-TI® Blind Rivet Studs
RIV-TI® blind rivet studs are alternatives to weld studs or press-fit threaded studs. The sleeve and screw are cold-welded. On the one hand, the welding ensures that the two components are joined together without twisting and, on the other, holds the end of the upsetting sleeve. Without this, the closing head that forms during the riveting process would pull the material away from the bolt head. This ensures absolute stability and load-bearing capacity of the blind rivet stud. By absolute, we mean that the screw, and not the rivet, gives way when overloaded. Blind rivet studs can therefore be subjected to the same load after riveting as DIN screws of the same quality.
Benefits at a glance
- One-sided access
- No thermal action on the base material, therefore no deforming or discolouring as occurs with welding, for example
- Replaces weld bolts or threaded self-clinching studs
- Enables the component to be preattached to the base component before fastening
Easy, rational and time-saving installation
- Prepare the drilled hole.
- Screw the RIV-TI® into the internal threaded mandrel of the rivet installation tool.
- Insert the RIV-TI® blind rivet screw into the drilled hole.
- The rivet installation tool retracts the internal threaded mandrel and rivets the RIV-TI® axially to the component. Hold the rivet installation tool squarely to the component when performing the installation.
- Spin off the internal threaded mandrel.
- The RIV-TI® is now ready to be used to support additional fasteners. For best twist-proof results, the attached parts must rest very flush on the head of the RIV-TI® blind rivet screw.
