The Main Duties
- Build new tools, modify or refurbish existing tools
- Operate effectively and safely the full range of non CNC tool room machinery when required
- Work on Centre Lathe turning, Universal Milling machines, Surface and Cylindrical Grinding
- Demonstrate the ability to pass on instructions and training to the other personnel within the department
- Understand engineering drawings for production and inspecting tooling
- Participation in projects and improvement groups within the company when required
- Work as part of a team but also on your own, organise own workload effectively
- Succeed an acceptable standard of workmanship and quality within a reasonable timescale
- Work in accordance with current Health and Safety guidelines
Authority
- To stop any process in department if quality or health and safety are in question.
Qualifications
- GCSE (or equivalent)
- Apprentice trained
Experience
- Ideally previous experience of working within a Tool Room with non CNC machinery
- Must have experience of using Centre Lathe turning, Universal Milling machines and Surface Grinding
Knowledge and skills
- Computing skills (Microsoft Excel and Word)
- Very good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
