The Main Duties

  • Stripping down Stage, Blank and Progressive Press Tools
  • Operating Surface Grinder and general Tool room machines
  • An appreciation of all aspects of tool room machining and specializing in any one area
  • To operate to an acceptable level and consistently demonstrate improvements
  • Organise your workload effectively
  • Understanding engineering drawings for producing and inspecting tooling
  • To attain an acceptable standard of workmanship and quality within a reasonable timescale
  • Work in accordance with current Health and Safety regulations

Authority:

  • To stop any process in department if quality or health and safety are in question.

Qualifications:

  • Apprentice trained or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Experience of operating surface grinders and general tool room machines
  • You will have previous experience of working on a shop floor in an engineering / machining environment

Knowledge and skills:

  • You will have a good knowledge and understanding of press tools and have confidence in stripping down and reassembling them
  • You will possess good housekeeping and maintenance skills of machines to a very high standard
