The Main Duties
- Stripping down Stage, Blank and Progressive Press Tools
- Operating Surface Grinder and general Tool room machines
- An appreciation of all aspects of tool room machining and specializing in any one area
- To operate to an acceptable level and consistently demonstrate improvements
- Organise your workload effectively
- Understanding engineering drawings for producing and inspecting tooling
- To attain an acceptable standard of workmanship and quality within a reasonable timescale
- Work in accordance with current Health and Safety regulations
Authority:
- To stop any process in department if quality or health and safety are in question.
Qualifications:
- Apprentice trained or equivalent.
Experience:
- Experience of operating surface grinders and general tool room machines
- You will have previous experience of working on a shop floor in an engineering / machining environment
Knowledge and skills:
- You will have a good knowledge and understanding of press tools and have confidence in stripping down and reassembling them
- You will possess good housekeeping and maintenance skills of machines to a very high standard

- Able to communicate well at all levels
- Promote good housekeeping throughout the facility and their own working area
- Attention to details is paramount, exposure to key business customers with a "Right First Time" approach
- Must be well presented at all times
